Drunken Gods

Some prelim sketches for a book cover I did for lil' sis'. The first designs were more loose and comical but we decided that wasn't really the direction her poems intended to go.

I eased up on the goofiness but tried to retain an ounce of satire, keeping the humor a little more subtle.

And thus, the end result...

It sounds more technical than it is...

Just a few quick sketches to run some scanning tests. I've noticed that my drawings don't look as crisp on screen as they do on paper; just trying to find the reasons behind this madness.

I hope he still hates the Patriots...

A long overdue gift for a very good friend.

Ignore the chains; they're placeholders and will be cleaned up in the final stages.

Sketches from class

Some random sketches I did in class during my Faces and Clothing lectures. Also a dragon because duh. And no, TP does not stand for toilet paper.

I feel I should explain Lady Amalthea in the last sketch. I normally stay away from drawing copyrighted characters let alone posting them but I was very pleased with how she came out.
I gave the students several characters and they had to draw each with a different expression as portrayed by a model. I usually do the first few with them and I paired the Lady with a girl sporting a goofy expression--I always felt grief for all the pain and sorrow she endured in human form and wanted to see her in a more lighthearted mood, really for her sake as well as mine.

Go watch The Last Unicorn. Also read the book.
